October 8 – Snowing

Of course, the day after I put up a picture of a snowman tchotchke in the sun, it snows.

Another still-water shot today from my hike around Dixon reservoir. It had been pretty low before the rain and the algae was taking over. Looks much better now.

It was dead still after we dropped Cody off at school and headed to the Riverbend Ponds Natural Area.
The morning sun was bright and the clouds to the west make this picture look as though I had run it through the tiltshiftmaker.
I didn’t.
Further along where the trail follows the Poudre River, we happened upon a couple of mink (I checked the CO DNR site to be sure) playing. I wish I could have been fast enough to get a picture. Mink are not something you see everyday.

The roses in front of the house are still looking good. I was sitting on the porch reading and noticed the light glowing through this one.

This patch has grown from this: July 19 to the giant patch above.

Another amazing pre-dawn sky.

I’ve tried a couple of times to get a picture of these enormous flowers. I almost stuck my hand in the shot to show how truly large the blossoms are. Almost.
I’m guessing 12″ – 15″ on a 6 ft tall bush.

Not my best photo, but the best one of these berries. I think I need to slow down and take more shots if I expect to get one really beautiful one.

I was up early to catch a flight.
