December 23 – Oak Grill

Eating at the Oak Grill in Dayton’s (now Macy’s, but in an act of defiance, most Minnesotans still call it Dayton’s) is a family tradition dating back to when my mother was a child.

Now, we head down each year to see the display in the 8th floor auditorium and lunch at the Oak Grill. The popovers are divine and the people watching is good, too. Children dressed up to visit Santa. Parents who waited too long to get their name on the seating list placating sugar stressed children for over an hour. Elderly grandparents and great-grandparents in their finery treating grandchildren. (They’re seated, of course. They KNOW to get their names on the list FIRST.)

December 2 – Snow, Deere

Working from home has its perks! The neighbors decided that since Wade was usually home, he could use their Deere and shovel everyone’s driveway before they got home in the evening. Well, it finally snowed. Note the green van that needs selling in the background. I’ll let it go cheap…anyone? anyone?

(FYI- Why yes, you are correct that Wade has owned that jacket since 1994.)

December 1 – Hair

I snapped this quick with my phone, so the quality isn’t great, but it does show a daily event at my house. This is the view from my side of the dinner table. I’m amazed that he doesn’t get his hair in the food more often. (Believe me, I’d know if he did.) I get this view of my son a lot as this is how he looks while using his ipod as well.

November 27 – Rams Town

November 21 – Snowglobes

Spent the weekend cleaning up & prepping for Thanksgiving visitors. I put out the snowglobes, because the little ones enjoy them.

September 27 – Fine Dining at Elitch’s

Popcorn anyone? Last trip to Elitch’s this year.

The season passes were so inexpensive and we wanted to use them thoroughly. The guest passes allowed our nieces and nephew to enjoy the park 2x for free as well.

September 6 – Grown-up boys

Ready for their grandparents’ vow ceremony.

September 5 – Paul Bunyan is so cool

He’s high-fiving my sister.

Northern Minnesota is loaded with Paul Bunyan statues. Here’s the largest walleye Paul ever caught.

September 4 – Cooking in a compact kitchen

Rice Krispie treats, Chocolate chip cookies are already done, along with pasta sauce. The perfect recipe for chocolate chip cookies is being selected.

September 3 – Throw-in
