august 2 – Grandma Monster’s cookies

My cousin’s dog lounged on the driving range while the boys hit some golf balls in Vail.

Since we had watched fireworks in Sebastopol, we headed for home. One hour into the drive, we saw signs for the Jelly Belly Factory. Even the pizza & burgers were jelly bean shaped!

The mountain is behind us.

It was over 75 degrees and we were working on our tan lines.

All the time.
She keeps her yarn under glass on display in her dining room, too. Very pretty!

One very complicated game.
Cody & I discovered the Haunted Game Cafe and headed down to play something new. Great games and the latte was yummy, too!

Penny- This one’s for you.
You mentioned you were thinking of letting your son keep his long hair because the photos of Cole make long hair look so cute. I thought I’d show you what he looks like in the morning, just out of the shower. If he would let me take a picture of him while he’s holding it out of his soup, believe me, I’d post it.
I think the ipod headset is permanently attached. Darn those kids and their newfangled devices.

And the mushroom was THIS BIG.
Yes, there were leftovers. FYI: my tempura batter (on the mushroom & in the blue bowl) was perfect! I may not be learning much about photography, but my cooking has definitely improved.

Wade is an amazing shopper. He picked up that Snuggie for only $2.99, a gorgeous leather jacket for me at 85% off and four of these bad boys ($2.99 – 10%). That’s right, matching family ponchos.
