July 16 – Archie Funker

In Fort Collins you can attend an outdoor concert just about every day in July.
Tonight we checked out Archie Funker on the lawn downtown.

Heading in to the Taste of Fort Collins. Don’t all cities have a bike valet?
Downtown Fort Collins on First Friday. The musician is That 1 Guy and don’t ask me what he is playing, it was the coolest sound I’ve heard in a long time. Sort of like a didgideroo, with a beat.
He also plays the saw.
Look what has taken up residence on the Fort Collins Museum of Modern Art steps! That is one giant egg.
Here’s the sign on the front:
I had to return books to the library. Look what I found in front! More of the art from the Council Tree library cleverly disguised as bike racks.
I joined the Association of Mathematics Educators, based in Singapore. Four times a year, I get a wonderful research journal that costs a bundle to mail. I’m so glad they don’t have a postage meter.
Maybe it’s time to take up stamp collecting! I have one from Kenya that depicts the Last Supper. The image of jesus has a distinct resemblance to then president Papa Moi.
Doesn’t your town have a Tuff-Shed Cryogenic Mausoleum and Chainsaw Art Shoppe?
So somehow, I ended up with snowglobes. One from Minnesota, one from Denver and this one from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, 2000.
The rest of the Christmas snowglobes live in the basement until December, but this one stays out year round.
I guess I’m still a Minnesotan at heart.
